The terms Gringo (M) and Gringa (F) have become the most common way to refer to any US citizen in Latin America.
"If you know any Latin-American people then you'll know this is a non-derogatory term used to refer to US citizens. Mostly because the term "American" does not make sense to the rest of the Americans (all those people who live in the continent named "America", which is every body from Alaska to Argentina), and the word "Estadounidense" (UnitedStatean) is too long." - Urban Dictionary

When you purchase a product from Lazy Gringo, you are supporting small business here at home and in the rural city of La Paz, Bolivia. Each textile was either purchased from a small Bolivian shop or made by our crew that you see here!
We all thank you for your business!
Though Bolivia's capital of La Paz is a modern city, the indigenous population plays a huge role in economic growth and stability through traditional methods of things such as, farming, cooking and of course textile-making to name a few!
No two pairs of lounge pants are exactly alike. Each pair of Lazy Gringo lounge pants were hand-selected and inspected from small shops in the capital city of La Paz and boasts a totally unique color scheme; giving you the widest selection possible, but if you find a pair you love, SNAG IT before the next gringo does!
Spools of the softest and warmest fiber on earth, alpaca, are spun into fabric that is then hand-stitched into beanies for our winter collection.
This bag of buttons embodies our mission to provide a quality product that will last. Our research showed that the light yet durable blend of cotton and acrylic in our lounge pants long out-lasted their stock wooden buttons. So we replaced them with the highly durable labels to match the dexterity of the fabric.
In 2016 Alex left a glorified corporate job to create a clothing brand that might not have ever even worked.
After a period as an Area Manager for Amazon.com, Alex bought a one-way flight to Bolivia. He brought with him his savings, Spanish-speaking skills, and international business background. Through months of research in the capitol city of La Paz, he eventually came to the conclusion, "This just might be possible." One year later, on the anniversary of his one-way flight, the Lazy Gringo test site went live. Since then Alex has been expanding the brand, introducing new products, growing the team, and looking towards the future!
Alex grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and attended the University of Memphis where he received his B.B.A. in International Business and Spanish. He is currently living a nomadic lifestyle, moving from city to city across the globe, growing the Lazy Gringo company along the way.
Christian joined Lazy Gringo in 2018 and handles all US based distribution. He has a passion for snowboarding, basketball, and watching movies (while wearing his favorite LazyGringo pants).
Born in Oklahoma, Christian moved around a lot as a child. He lived in Houston, San Antonio and Puebla, Mexico where learned to speak Spanish. Eventually, his family settled in Memphis Tennessee where he met Alex.
Christian graduated in 2016 from The University of Memphis. After an internship with Caesar’s Entertainment he moved to Denver, Colorado to help grow the LazyGringo brand.
